Vacation — Zoo and Playground

So the next big adventure was to the Southwick Zoo in Massachusetts. It’s a fabulous place. And we will definitely go back — but mainly because Erin was not herself and didn’t really allow us to have that great of a time.

She wouldn’t eat, wouldn’t sit, wouldn’t walk, wouldn’t settle — it was rough. We were the parents other parents feel sorry for. Thankfully, the rain came so we could use that as an excuse to go for Aidan, and he was fine with that.

We spent about two hours there — but could have spent two more easily. Here’s one shot pre-Erin meltdown.

They were looking at camels, I think. And after this, all down hill from there.

Later that day, after a good nap for Erin, we then ended up at the local park playground where a good time was had by all.

That’s our daredevil, Erin, about to go down a tube slide at 14 months that her brother didn’t want to go down until he was almost three! Hard to believe, too, that just a few hours ago she was pretty much out of control.

He has no problem going down it now — even on his belly.

Renee probably won’t love the pose I caught her in, but I love this picture of Erin. I was behind these turning things and put the camera through them as she was climbing up the steps. She obviously saw me.

Daring on the seesaw!

The playground is always a hit.

Love, love, LOVE the slide pictures! Mom and daughter both look beautiful and Aidan looks as handsome as ever.

That’s too bad that you didn’t get to stay at the zoo as long as you would have liked, but those days happen, and you’ll get to go back sometime!

Looks like lots of fun at the playground! Erin’s getting so big! And that Aidan is quite the handsome fellow! 😉
