Emptying a Cluttered Mind…

So, Hershey’s is going all out in the variety of their legendary Kisses. The always popular basic Kiss now has some company: dark chocolate, cherry, caramel, orange cream and almonds. Why can’t we just love the basic Kiss? Why do we need these flavors? It’s like the entire M&M craze, which I don’t support either, for the record. How about it? Are you with me on keeping just the basic Kiss or are you a new flavor lover?

You’ve heard about the beef recall, right? Something 140 million pounds of beef had to be recalled. Here’s my question. Where does it go once it’s recalled? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yup, Erin is crawling. It happened officially this weekend. It’s an amazing thing to watch. But, the downside? Do you think Aidan is ready to share his toys? Um, no. “I’ll share with her when I’m a thousand, Daddy.” I’ve never counted to 10 so much as I did this weekend.

On a bright note, Aidan and I did go sledding at the local (very hilly) golf course. It was his first real time. We had a blast.

Some upcoming concerts for me: Bon Jovi (of course!) and Billy Joel.

I had a rough Forty by Forty weekend — but I’ll blame it on Renee’s birthday.

What’s going to be really tough for Forty by Forty is not stopping for a Shamrock Shake every other day. I can’t eliminate them…but I can’t have three or four a week, either.

Tell me you are watching Rock of Love 2? If you are not, you must. You simply must.

Two signs I knew that Forty by Forty is working: when I got my haircut recently, my hairdresser (yes, I go to a woman) put the thing around my neck and I was like, “Kelly, did you get bigger ones (um, yeah, that’s not sounding how I mean it, but you know what I mean….)? She hadn’t. So, I’ve actually lost weight in my neck. And, apparently in my fingers a bit, too, because my rings even feel a tad looser.

Again, if it snows, you are required to clear said snow off your car. Including your roof. Ugh, I hate that. Hate it!

I mentioned I’m going to seen Bon Jovi, right?! πŸ™‚

Not only am I watching, but I am loving, Lipstick Jungle.

Hillary still has my support.

I think that’s it.

What else? I got nothin’.

I agree with you that candy companies need to stick with the basics. Plain and peanut M&Ms are all we need. None of this dark chocolate nonsense.

    Also? Billy Joel? Jealous.

And congrats on feeling a bit smaller – that’s good motivation not to get multiple Shamrock shakes a week, right?

  2. Penelope23 says:

I freakin’ love Rock of Love. The girls aren’t quite as mean as they were in the first one, but entertaining none the less.

Who do you think is going to ROCK Brett’s world?

  3. erin says:

Good to hear the forty by forty is working so far!

And Bon Jovi last night was awesome – you will have a great time!

  4. Sara says:

I’m a sucker for the original, too, but I also LOVE the cherry. I don’t like fruit, but I like fruit flavoring, so this is the best of both worlds for me – I don’t have to pick the cherry out of chocolate-covered cherries anymore to get that delicious taste!

SO jealous you’re seeing Billy Joel. My best friend from home and I always went when he was in town, but he’s in Milwaukee on a Sunday night, so it’s not feasible for her to fly up here. And I apparently have no other friends.

I’ve never had a Shamrock Shake, which blows my mind because I think I’d love it. I’ll have to try one, just for you, this season.

Congrats on the weight loss! And yay (and uh oh?) for Erin crawling!

  5. Fritz says:

I get to go see Billy Joel Too!!!! way excited! which night are you going?? and double yeah to shamrock shake time! i completely forgot about those! shame on me!

  6. Molly says:

Oooh your man crush. How dreamy!

You know, I actually like the caramel ones!

  7. JenBun says:

I was actually eating a regular ol’ Hershey kiss as I was reading this post! πŸ˜› I love ’em (although they say little things on the paper strip now, and I thought that was weird at first, when my chocolate had “Hi!” printed inside it!)– I also love Hugs! After that, they can stop.

Same with M&Ms– except peanut butter. I LOVE peanut butter M&Ms.

Congrats on the tiny neck! πŸ˜€

  8. La says:

I think you forgot about the peanut butter kisses. Those are the BEST.

  9. L B says:

i am all about the new flavors homie!!! DARK CHOCOLATE M&Ms are awesome. Almonds in the Kiss and the M&Ms are also fabulous…but I don’t love allll the flavors. ORANGE KISSES, ummm gross. Cherry Cordial ones are also GROSS. But the peanut butter ones = AMAZING. But enough with the chocolate…boo chocolate right?! ehhhhhhh.

  10. Melissa says:

I am totally on board with the new candies because I LOVE dark chocolate, and everything before was milk chocolate except for those 3 Special Dark miniatures you’d get in a bag of the mixed minis. I LOVE Dark chocolate M&Ms and dark chocolate Peanut M&Ms…my thighs hate them. πŸ™‚

  11. Kate says:

I saw Bon Jovi in January. SO awesome.

I am all about the flavours. PB M&Ms.. Cookies & Cream kisses. So Good. But in NZ we only get the sensible flavours- none of that cherry cordial business.

  12. heatherdc says:

Totally with LB up there, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the dark chocolate ones!! I’m so used to them that I don’t even like the regular ones very much anymore. weird!
keep those updates of 40 by 40 coming….not just on the blog!! πŸ˜‰

  13. Anna says:

No fruit and chocolate. If I want fruit, I’ll eat some. It interferes with my chocolate experience.

I am, as a regular observer, willing to go out on a limb and say you’ve got to be at least halfway to forty by forty.

So enjoy a shamrock shake or two. It’s all in moderation.

Not sure if I am on board with Lipstick Jungle, but I am WANTING to love it. Girl crush on two of the three characters.

  14. Lil' Joe says:

Well… I can’t get into the ol’ Kiss debate (Beth, what can I do?), but my youngest nephew is now enjoying sleigh riding… good stuff.

…and how about a little recognition for Marist Hoops… Granted, the Men have lost 6 of 7, but the Women are ranked #25 nationally!

No Billy Joel or Bon Jovi down in NC, but The Chieftain’s are coming to town 3/11 (St. Pat’s week)!

    OK… that’s all my clutter!

  15. elizabethews says:

    Of course watching ROL2!
    Yay for JBJ…he’s so hot.
In other news – I NEED to see you! It’s been so long and I really want to see this 40 by 40 transformation before you actually turn 40!

  16. Barb (bp) says:

Not the Billy Joel at Shea Stadium concert? or is it one by you up there in the CT country?

  17. Pessimistic Redhead says:

So this has nothing to do with this post but last night I was driving in Southie and saw a guy who looks like you (or like you look in pictures) at the stop light next to me. I really wanted to roll down my window and say “Mike” just to see what this guy would say, but the light changed. I’m glad I didn’t, because what are the odds a father of two from Little Rhodey would be in Southie at 10 on a weeknight? Also, since it was Southie, there’s a pretty good chance the guy’s name was Mike, anyway. Then I would have some ‘splaining to do.

  18. JC says:

Sorry – lipstick jungle is awful

    Hillary – awfuller.

    What else?

    I’ve got somethin alright.
