Future Rap Star?

So Aidan goes to pre-school on Tuesday and Thursday. And, in the interest of logistics, Erin goes to my mother-in-law’s when Renee goes to work, so it’s just us two men hanging out on Tuesday and Thursday morning.

The oil man came to make a (very expensive) delivery this morning, so our attention was focused on watching that entire process.

When the truck left, I realized we only had a few minutes to get dressed and out of the house at our normal time to keep things on schedule.

That’s when the following occured:

“Come on, bud, we don’t want to be late. Let’s hustle.”

“But, Dad,” he started, “I don’t want to hustle or bustle or muscle or wustle.”

I just cracked up and said, “Well, OK, but let’s hurry up.” And we did.

Oh, and yeah, wustle isn’t really a word. We know this, right? But it was funny to hear him make up another rhyme.

What else? I got nothin’ (except a pile of work to do).

I like how you said “just us two men”. So cute!

    He’s such a munchkin.

And I feel him. Today I definitely don’t want to hustle or bustle or muscle or wustle either.

Aidan’s lyrics kind of remind me of the Superbowl Shuffle, only I bet your son moves better than The Fridge.

Also, love the family picture! I took 70 photos of my nephew while trying to get our Christmas card picture, so I totally believe it’s the best one of your family in existence. You guys look very happy.

  4. What is it with kids and rhyming?! TB’s 4-year-old nephew got on this rhyming kick and one day he was like “duck rhymes with f-ck, right dad?” Gah. Kids.

Personally, I’ve always been more partial to the Electric Slide anyway.

  7. Chelle says:

We should try those lyrics out around the office. Let’s not hustle, bustle, muscle or wustle with anything in those piles of work waiting for us…

    😉

Wustle? That’s genius. Seriously, you’ve got a star there. I’ve put that rhyme to some beats and am shopping it to Kanye.

I don’t have many kids in my life. This is why I need your stories like this.

  9. Anna says:

I feel like I’ve been wustling all day.

  10. He is so cute – isn’t it funny what comes out of their mouths?

    He’s mini-Eminem! Love it! Hope Dre is reading… =)
